The Engers Academy, represented by the director Kirill Troussov, (in the following referred to as "Engers Academy") organizes string master-classes at the Château Engers near Frankfurt (in the following referred to as "academy week") for international participants (in the following referred to as "students"). Each master-class consists of several individual lessons. These lessons may be held in private or publicly, including instant or later broadcasting or publishing on the Internet or in other media.
All relevant information about the academy week will be published in advance on pages of this website. This information includes — but is not limited to — location, dates, times, instructors, prices, deadlines and further details.
Unless an explicit exception is made, students must apply for the academy week in a certain city via the appropriate official online application page of the Engers Academy. Applications by e-mail or other forms of communication are not accepted. Incorrect or missing data in the application form may lead to rejection.
An application does not guarantee participation. Each instructor of the academy week will select the final participants of his/her master-class and will inform the students accordingly. The Engers Academy reserves the right to reject applicants without explanation. All decisions of the Engers Academy are final. Legal recourse is excluded.
After the Engers Academy has confirmed the participation in the academy week, the student is required to pay the participation fee and, if applicable, the accommodation costs, meeting the deadline published on the application page.
Payments must be made by PayPal, credit card or bank transfer. The student will receive all necessary details by e-mail. Failure to pay within the given time frame may lead to immediate exclusion from the academy week.
Cancellations will only be granted under very special circumstances and only until 60 days prior to the academy week. After this period the student must pay the master-class and all associated services in full. Failing to do so may lead to an indefinite exclusion from all future academy weeks of the Engers Academy or other partner academies.
Nevertheless, in case of a cancellation, the Engers Academy will make best efforts to find a replacement student. In that case, the Engers Academy reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee, according to applicable law.
Unforeseen circumstances beyond the Engers Academy's control may force the Engers Academy to cancel the academy week, a specific master-class, individual lessons or other parts of the overall service. In such a case, apart from a partial or total refund, the student may not claim and will not receive any further compensation.
Any necessary location change within a radius of 100 km or any time change within one week is no valid reason for a cancellation by the student.
Master-classes will be given by the instructors listed on the application page. Should an instructor not be able to hold a master-class or individual lesson(s) the Engers Academy will make best efforts to provide a replacement instructor of similar international renown and/or similar teaching qualities. A change of instructor is no valid reason for a cancellation by the student or a compensation whatsoever.
Unless stated otherwise, a master-class consists of 4 individual lessons with a duration of 45 minutes each. Lesson times and locations will be announced before and/or during the academy week. They can be subject to change any time. Students who fail to attend their lesson(s) may not claim any financial reimbursement or other form of compensation.
In addition to the master-classes, the Engers Academy consists of chamber music projects, that may consist of lessons, rehearsals, private concerts and public performances, such as the official closing concert. Participation in these chamber music projects is mandatory for all students. They will be given by a dedicated chamber music teacher and/or the accompanying pianists. Times and locations will be announced before and/or during the academy week. They can be subject to change any time.
Some academy weeks of the Engers Academy follow the overall concept of all participants living, working and making music together, at the academy week location or nearby. For the participation in these academy weeks, accommodation at the given location(s) is mandatory. With his/her application the student agrees to book and pay one of the listed rooms, during the payment process. Exceptions will only be made for students who happen to live close to the location of the academy week.
The accommodation includes three omnivorous or vegetarian meals per day. Should a student with alternative eating habbits or food allergies opt out of this service he/she will be solely responsible for his/her food & beverages during the entire academy week.
Any student opting out from the catering must be aware of the fact that eating out may require more time. He/she will be solely resonsible for returning to the academy week location on time for his/her lessons.
Students who opt out from the catering may request a reduced room price, as long as they have stated their reason to opt out in the application form.
Students under the age of 18 may bring a parent or other companion. We will do our best to arrange accommodation for such a person, but we cannot guarantee the availability of double rooms or additional rooms. Should extra rooms be available we cannot guarantee the same prices as for the accommodation of the academy students.
Any accommodation agreements made between companions and the Engers Academy are binding. Payments must be made within the same time frames as any other payments for the academy week.
With his/her application the student grants the Engers Academy the right to record impressions of the master-classes, the concerts and all other activities during the academy week for educational or advertising purposes, including — but not limited to — photos, videos and/or audio recordings, including recordings that depict the student and/or his/her performance.
The student also grants the Engers Academy the indefinite right to publish and distribute such recordings in all existing or future media, including — but not limited to — YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram, websites of the Engers Academy and its partners, Television, ads, magazines and/or newspapers. These publications may contain the original recordings, excerpts or modifications, and the recordings may be combined with recordings of other students or with other works.
The Engers Academy may record and publish all activities described in 5.1., free of charge. The student will receive no royalties or other form of compensation.
The Engers Academy grants the student the right to take photos during the academy week and to publish these photos on his/her social media channels or personal website. The student may not publish photos elsewhere or record/publish video or audio without written approval by the Engers Academy.
Both the student and the Engers Academy agree that any published material shall show the depicted persons and/or their performance in a manner that does not harm the reputation or career of the depicted persons, of the Engers Academy or of any associated persons, companies, schools, institutes or similar entities.
Photography, videography, audio recordings and the processing & publishing of such media are related to very high costs, covered by the Engers Academy and public funding. Should a student revoke the rights mentioned above and should an applicable law require the Engers Academy to comply, this revocation would result in a significant damage to the Engers Academy.
Therefore, in such a case, the Engers Academy will withdraw any benefits the student has received as a result of his/her participation in the academy week, including — but not limited to — scholarships, certificates, awards and publication rights. Should such benefits have already been paid/given they must be returned by the student. The student will also be excluded indefinitely from all future academy weeks of the Engers Academy and of partner academies.
The Engers Academy will observe all legal obligations that may result from German, European or international law. In case any provision of this agreement shall be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not in any way be affected or impaired thereby.
